The story begins in foggy London when American businessman W.D. Boyce lost his way. A young Scout helped him navigate the streets and refused a tip, explaining he was merely doing his duty. This act of kindness inspired Boyce to bring Scouting to America. The movement itself originated in Britain under Lord Robert Baden-Powell, who published “Scouting for Boys” in 1908.
